Since 1905, Mellon’s Shop & Deli has been part of the heart and soul of Ringsend. Still proudly family-run, four generations on, our shop began life as a traditional grocer selling everything the local community needed — fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, bread, sugar, coal, tobacco and newspapers — and yes, we even ran a credit book.

Over more than 100 years, we’ve adapted with the times to survive, while staying true to the warmth and personal service that shaped us from the beginning. Where once there were many small family shops like ours in Ringsend, today only two remain.

These days, our famous deli keeps us busy serving freshly made breakfasts, omelettes, overnight oats, pastries, barista coffee, salad bowls and freshly cut sandwiches every day. But beyond the food, it’s the chats, familiar faces and sense of community we treasure most — the kind of simple human connection becoming all too rare, and always free at Mellon’s.
